...dunia fantaSi kita...

Day 3 (04/12/2010) – second day in Jakarta, early in the morning, we took a cab heading to Blok M Busway Terminal…however, we were advised by our pengemudi to start off from any bus Halte (station)…it’s more safe…reason: pencopet pasti ada tiap-tiap hari, ngambil metro di terminal, langsung mudah, mulai saja di halte, lebih selamat…

and so, he dropped us at Halte Masjid Agung…fee for a one-trip of TransJakarta busway system is fixed at Rp.3500 = MYR1…the whole busway system consists of 8 corridor lines (with 6 operators) covering all sections of Jakarta (North,South, and Central mainly)…in a way, this public transportation system do help to curb the ‘macet’ness since  busway lane at major roads is designated to be accessed by the buses only…

Ingin lancar? Ambil TransJakarta, jangan ambil jalurnya…

OK, our journey to Ancol took us about 1.25 hours…we got to glance at the famous landmark: Monumen Nasional at Central Jakarta…and we saw the street vendors persuading people stucked in jam with all sorts of merchandise ranging from Aqua mineral water and crackers up to impressive inflatables as big as a 3-feet tall bunny armchair for children…these street vendors are mostly from Padang and Sumatera…they came in groups of 20 people and live in the squatter area for 1 to 2 months and returned back when another group came to replace them…and the cycle goes on…i think the same concept applies in Malaysia…can’t blame them…but the gap is soooo un’sangka’rable…a pondok buruk can stand nicely next to a guarded territory of a 5-storey mansion…

hoo…siapa jiran loe?!!

we reached Halte Ancol at around 1030am…from there, we had to pay for the Ancol admission (same concept as Sentosa Island in Singapore)…it’s Rp.9500 per person…

entering Ancol, you get the option as to where you would want to go…the attractions include Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (cultural village), Underwater World, Safari, Dunia Fantasi (theme park), beaches, and national parks…but first, we need to have our tourist hats...lalalalalalalala...it costs us Rp.30000 each...

we went straight to DuFan and pay an admission fee of Rp.150000 per person…yeay…

at the barry gate after slotting our DuFan entry ticket, the staff stamped a temporary inked DuFan tattoo on our hands…that will be used to access all the offered wahanas (rides)…

our first ride is Biang La La (kincir resaksa / giant Ferris wheel) – a 6 rounds ride and you get to see the whole of DuFan…from Biang La La, we walked towards IstaBon (istana boneka / it's a Small World)...there, we realized there are just sooo many many interesting places we've yet to go...

then, we nestled into Poci-Poci (cangkir berputar / tea cup party)...feeling a little bit dizzy do not stop us from having the log ride Niagara-gara...during the last plunge, Zetti instructed: jage topi!!! and she managed to get a grip on hers as she sat in the front...Siti in the middle: topi kite melayang!!! while me at the back: alah, kite punye pun!!! and all of these conversations were captured by the wahana's camera...hahahahahahaha...we bought our picture...thank you...

poor us, we then move on to the shooting range Acu Jitu - more of wanted to remove the sadness of having to sacrifice our lovely hats...alas, no thrill at all because it was a silent rifle and we're like randomly shooting aimlessly at blinking green lights...and it was sooooo long...penat sia-sia...again, poor us for Rp.30000...

we went next door to Rumah Jahil (mirror maze)...thinking back, it was scary if you're found trapped in the maze facing your own reflections all around you...uuuuu...the key is to touch the mirror walls and keep moving...and there's one section where the mirror walls are rotating...alhamdulillah, we're out from there safe and sound...

next, we stopped for lunch at Rumah Makan Ayam Bekakak Cinde Laras...Zetti and Siti had the Pecel Lele Paket Set while me opted for Bebek Bakar Paket Set...Es Kelapa Bulat for Zetti and Siti and me ordered Jus Alpukat...enak...3.8 stars...priced at Rp.108000...

after lunch, we rode the Ombang-Ambing (spinning crown)...the big crown was twisted somewhat like when you're playing spinning coin and the coin eventually turn itself to come to a stop...when the crown was twisted forward, you got to enjoy the laziness but once it was spun reversibly, then the dizzy fun begins...ohh, bile nak stop neh?!!

then, we queued for Alap-Alap (corkscrew roller coaster)...a 6 rounds gek-gek-gek laughing coasters...after Alap-Alap, we rocked ourselves with Ontang-Anting (flying swing) - my favourite wahana...it was nearly 2pm at that time, so, we decided to have a break at the nearby Musholla next to a lake...we had our prayers and sat by the lake later to eat Singkong crackers (singkong is a kind of tapioca)...

aku suka singkong, kau suka keju...ooo...oooo~~~

what about Singkong Keju (cheese-flavoured singkong crackers) then?!! but, i know there's no such thing as Keju Singkong (singkong-flavoured cheese)...in my conclusion, singkong wins...yeay...

next, we had our wet wahana which is the Arung Jeram (flume ride)...at the start of the wahana, we've already got a big splash...i lose the feelings until we came to the photo spot where Zetti was the overall champion...sooo high-spirited...yeay..we bought this picture too...

then, we hopped onto Raja Wali (swinging bird) - 4th dizzy machines of the day...we continued to the Infrared Dome for Perang Bintang (Star Wars shooting game)...a better experience with sound systems...yeay...but in the middle of the war, Siti's gun went dead for a while...

out from Perang Bintang, we followed the crowd waiting for the most anticipated wahana: the screening of 'Journey to the Centre of the Earth' at the DuFan 3D Theatre Simulation Hall...here, we waited for 30 minutes OK...but, it was worth it...we got to choose our best seats as when our turns came by, we've come in front of the lines instead of being fillers in the previous slot if we're the back zaps...

finally, our last ride before exiting DuFan is Turangga-Rangga (merry go round)...this is where Siti and me listened merrily to the Dufan theme song...

ma-ri-lah kita per-gi sekelu-ar-ga
un-tuk da-pat puas baha-gi-a
dalam duni-a yang mempe-sona
Du-nia Fantasi kita~~~

bye-bye DuFan...we missed Kicir-Kicir, Pontang-Pontang and Belana Kera (these wahanas were under maintenance)...and we missed killer rides (Kora-Kora: swinging ship, Hysteria, Tornado and Halilintar:3 loops roller coaster) due to long queues...and we missed children' rides (Gajah Diebug, Burung Tempur, Bola Gelo, bumper cars and bumper boats)...

out from DuFan, we stopped to replace back our missing hats...hehe...

we then took the bus to Halte Harmoni and walked to Semanggi Mall...we had our dinner at Es Teler 77...Bakso Super Set for me, Bakmie Pedas Set for Zetti and Nasi Ayam Set for Siti and we ordered 1 Es Teler ( a concoction of santan in shaved ice with pieces of jackfruit, avocado, mango, young coconut slice and cendol)...a so so enak...Rp.94000...2.76 stars...

we're happily happily exhausted...we took a cab back to hotel, which is we don't even realize only 5 minutes walking distance...OKlaa, had to pay the minimum tarif = Rp.10000...
keycard problem, again?!! now, the hotel staff recognized us - Kamar 1028 yaa...

zZzzZzzzzz around 11pm too...second day in jakarta overall rating: increase to 3.43 stars...yeay...
