...broga hill trekking trip...

on 24th may 2009, i responded to the call of nature...hehe...the broga hill trekking trip was initiated by my darling Shon...thank you, babe...

Harni and me were up very very early in the morning...after Subuh prayer, we straight-away went to Nor's place with Ryan...there, we met Nor, Fizah, Kay and Genot...

we started our journey around 615am...traffic was smooth (people were still enjoying their Saturday long sleeping) and so we reached broga hill nearly 7am...Shon and Waida were already there since they came from Bangi (nearby)...

we had our warm-up session and later started our trekking up the hill around 730am...with determination, we safely reached the 3/4 top hillstop at 815am...we picked a nice picnic spot for breakfast...yeay...

then, after a while, we climbed up to the very top...we stayed and enjoyed the magnificent view for a quite sometime...ohh...what bliss~~~

and guess what, it was a relief for me to finally suppress my ache to scream...i can't seem to wait enough and just took the chance...aaaarggghhhhh...i screamed once and for all...a loud one...thank you Allah...i felt better and energized instantly...

later it was time to descend...

all in all, we had a great time...i love it...

...melawat kawasan mai...

on 9 may 2009, i went to kuantan with geng 'melawat kawasan'...it was a refreshing trip for me, FarrahIz and Pipah...Liza tagged us along...and later we dropped her at Mai's house as apparently she's Mai's bridesmaid...we reached Mai's house at around 12pm...we stayed to help prepared the 'bunga rampai' and Mai's family treated us with fried rice for lunch...nearly 130pm, Asz came by to pick us up...yeay...

we went to put our luggage at MS Garden...after having our prayers, we went out...lalalalala...

Asz brought us to have a light meal...we went to the Kuantan famous cendol place...we obviously had our delightful cendol plus Chicken rojak...

our next stop is the East Coast Mall...we window-shopped...however, Pipah and Asz were influenced to buy cheap promotional towels at Aussino...hehe...

in the evening, we went to the Kuantan centre field (near the Blue Mosque) where we had our tea time...we opted for Yes Boss Corner stall...there was the usual football match at the time...Asz ordered her favourite Clamshell Fried Kuey Teow, Pipah & Farrahiz both had Char Kuey Teow while i tried the Spicy Fried Mee...yummy...yummy...yeay...

at around 630pm, we took a walk at the local Pasar Malam...we bought the local kuehs, tau foo fahs, fried snacks, apam baliks and sweetcorn...Pipah and FarrahIz also bought the solar-driven flower deco for their cars...

we promised to meet Nozie who came all the way from Kerteh at MS Garden...we had our prayers and freshen up before another night out...this time around was intentionally to accompany Nozie for dinner...we went to Kemaman Kopitiam...

after dinner, we headed back to MS Garden for our most anticipated hours of pillow talk...yeay...yeay...thank you darlings...

early the next morning, we had our breakfast at a local mamak restaurant...when everyone's ready, we went to Mai's place...we reached there just right after Mai has been officially wedded to Najmie...Mai looked dazzlingly beautiful...

congratulations Mai and Najmie...

we stayed until 1pm...Nozie and Asz went back to MS Garden...we parted there...finally, Pipah, FarrahIz and me reached KL at around 430pm...

...woouuhhh...kuching...deym~~~

on 2 May 2009, i went on a 3 days 2 nights Kuching trip...it was meant to attend Khairool's wedding reception...well, at the same time - cuti2 Malaysia...yeay...it was my 2nd time been in Kuching...i went there nearly 5 years ago during my MLNG internship era...

so, the journey started early Saturday morning...Kak Intan sent me to KL Sentral at around 710am where i met Dewi & Shim at McDonald's...the three of us then headed straight to the Skybus terminal where Nadh has been waiting...Hamim & Mukmin were nowhere to be found...we set to proceed and promised to meet them later at LCCT...

arriving at LCCT, we rushed to the check-in counter #32...the counter agent told us that the policy is to issue boarding passes to present passengers with identification documents only...hence, we managed to obtain 4 passes leaving Hamim & Mukmin behind as we don't have their ICs...next, we went to have a light breakfast at the Oldtown Kopitiam LCCT outlet...
we entered the boarding area at 915am and off we go...weehooo...i sat next to Hamim and slept all the way... we arrived safely at Kuching International Airport and was greeted by Khairool's friends...

they drove us to Serapi Restaurant for a quick lunch...we had 'Mee Kolok' - our first Sarawak delicacy...hurmm...not bad...next, we had a tour around Kuching town and we stopped by Kuching Waterfront...we took a perahu ride across the river from the Water Front to Pengkalan Sapi...the weather was very hot and we were a bit disappointed when knowing that we were not allowed to enter the late Brooke's residence...anyway, we posed nearby and got some great shots...this is the new Sarawak State Assembly Hall building:our next stop is Jong's Crocodile Farm where the famous Bujangs are keep...alas, we missed the feeding session scheduled at 3pm...we were 30 minutes late...i guess there are about 300+ of crocodiles and alligators there...wow...however, i'm not fond of them and i dislike the stench...most of the time, the reptiles were acting like stones - very hard, no reaction at all - staring into space...we tried to make them move by throwing pebbles...hoyeah...they just lay still...
later on, we went to the breeding cages...and guess what?!! a simple trick to make them move is just to pour water onto their backs...ohh...now we know...
after spending about one hour at the farm, we then set to our destination - to Khairool's place...
we arrived at around 6pm and were treated toi early dinner...yeay...then, we're off to Khairool's grandma's house - our home for the night...
'Belulut' event - bride changing clothes + 'bersanding' accompanied by a hadrah group performance started right after Isya' prayer... Wir had three different theme costumes: Jawa Princess...
Maharani (Chinese opera)...
and PGL...the ceremony lasted until midnight with karaoke session and fireworks display...and that night, MU scores 2 - 0...yeay...early Sunday morning, we checked out from Khairool's grandma's house...we were lucky enough to catch the couple for snapshots just before they were escorted to Khairool's house...after having meals, it was photoshoot time:Wir & Khairool left for outdoor photo session giving us time to rest until 3pm...we thanked Khairool's family and bade farewell before we're off to Kuching town again...yeay...
we checked in at Harbour View Hotel and had our prayers...not so much time for lazing around, we went out at 7pm...we were looking forward for our seafood dinner at the famous Topspot Foodcourt a.k.a. Taman Kereta...a great 'makan' place...yeszza...we had coconut Longan drinks...so refreshing...and Mukmin treated us with 'Umai' - raw fish salad dish...and also 'Pansuh' - chicken cooked in bamboo with some sorts of leaves...what else aa?!!ohh...for rm30/pax, we got ourselves plain rice served with 2 sambal grilled fish (we had a stingray and a 1-sided fish), 2 bowls of mixed seafood tomyam soups, 2 plates of Japanese tofu in oyster sauce, 2 plates of fried omelettes, 1 plate of shrimp paste fried Midin (local green vegetable), i plate of battered deep fried squids, 1 plate of black pepper fried beef, 1 plate of dried chillies grilled clam shells and 1 plate of lemon chicken...all are yummylicious and satisfying...we even got discounted price and complimentary cut fruits...after dinner, we went strolling around...
to the famous action Cats Statues:and to Kuching Waterfront again:this time, we took a night perahu cruise...
most of the shops were already closed by 9pm...sigh~~~
out of the blue, we spotted a local Orang Ulu playing the traditional musical instrument - 'Sape'...we started our final day in Kuching by having a McDonald's breakfast since we don't want to risk ourselves eating at non-proven kosher local eateries...after breakfast, we went our separate ways as per discussion...the boys went to Satok local market to get salty Terubok fish while the girls went to Dayang Salhah's Sarawak layer cake factory...i bought a dozen Sarawak layer cakes with various flavours for family and friends...among my favourites include Blueberry Cheese layer, Rainbow Ice Cream layer and Chocolate Almond layer...on our way back, we met Marissa & Nik at the jetty...
we met back at Kuching Waterfront at around 10am...then, we started our souvenir lookouts...as usual, i bought T-shirts for my siblings, niece and nephews...what i bought for me? - a beaded red purse, a white stone bangle and 3 stone necklaces (orange, red and green)...
next is lunch time at Moly's Place located just behind our hotel...some of us had Sarawak Laksa and some opt for Nasi Ayam Penyet...after lunch, Is, Anoi & Cok took their leave as their flight to Kota Kinabalu was scheduled at 2pm...by this time, all of us also checked out but were thankful to Raf and friends who let us to leave our baggage in their room since they extended their check-out time...
hurmm..to kill time, Shim, Dewi, Hamim & Mukmin went for a movie outing...nice, eh?!!hahahaha...unforgettable?!!they watched ' Jangan Tegur'...Nadh and me went shopping again...yeay...at 4pm, we met at Kuching Waterfront for our tea time snacks...we had Waterfront burgers and hotdogs...we bumped into Erin and her fiancee...Yang Yang...hakhak...
at 6pm, we took 3 taxis to the Kuching airport...after check-in process, we went for a lepak session at Only Mee...here, i had Sarawak Laksa again...Khairool & Wir came to join us...thank you sweet couple :)
we arrived safely back in KL nearly 12pm...there goes my wonderful, memorable Kuching weekend trip...woouuuhhh...happy...happy...
